This is the list of top 10 largest lake in the world. Caspian Sea is known as the biggest among all rivers in the world.

From top 10 lakes on the following list, Only Caspian Sea which contains oceanic basin.

The remaining rivers are composing continental crust.

Caspian Sea

Caspian Sea gives its shoreline to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia. It is 371,000 km2 or 143,000 sq miles wide, stretches 1,199 km or 745 miles and the water volume is 78,200 km3.

Compare to other sea, Caspian Sea, the only salt water lake here, is included as one of the smallest.

Michigan Huron

Michigan-Huron is owned by Canada and United states. These 2 rivers are lying over a single crust of a water bed and it makes them the 2nd largest lakes in the world. If those are separated, Huron will be 3rd and Michigan will be the 4th largest river in the world. Lake Michigan-Huron is 117,702 km2 or 45,445 sq miles and it flows 710 km or 440 miles away

Lake Victoria

Victoria Lake is 69,485 km square/ 26,828 square miles and the Lake flow 322 km away or 200 miles. The shoreline of the lakes is shared with Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Lake Tanganyika

The shoreline of Tanganyika is belonged to Burundi, Tanzania, Congo, and Zambia. The lake is 32,893 km2 or 12,700 square miles. The length is 676 km and it is known as the 2nd world’s deepest lake

Baikal Lake

Baikal Lake in Russia is the 6th largest lake in the world. It is 31,500 km square wide and the length is 636 km. Baikal is the deepest lake in the world. With volume 23,600 km3, Baikal wins a title as the biggest fresh water Volume Lake in the world

Great Bear Lake in Canada is 31,080 km2 or 12,000 square miles wide. The length is 373 km and it is recognized as the biggest lake in Canada

Malawi lake area is 30.044 km square or 11,600 square miles and it is known for the world’s fish population. The lake’s length is 579 km or 360 miles and Malawi is known as Africa’s 2nd deepest lake

Great Slave Lake

Great Slave Lake is located in Canada and is noted as North America’s Deepest Lake. The area is 28,930 km2 or 11,170 square miles and the length is 0000000000000480480 km 300 miles.

Lake Erie

Erie Lake shorelines are claimed by Canada and United States. The area is 25,719 km2 or 9,930 square miles and the length is 388 km or 241 miles. Among other members of Great Lakes, Erie Lake is the shallowest one.
